Can I reuse ARP rod bolts on another set of rods?

I would but some would say no. How old? You'll need the new rods resized.

I don't think the bolts have more than 2K miles, one of the rods had a spun bearing.

re-size the rods absolutely or the rods and bearings will be toast in short order.

The stock type bolts help align the rod caps side to side and back and forth. Using different bolts won't have the caps align perfectly. And when you're talking about .0005" tolerance, that isn't much, especially when they "shift" .0050" Plus, they torque differently giving a different size and making them out of round even more.

They probably were not resized, cause all 4 bearings are toasted.

Looks like an oil issue or lack of oil clearance. Check the crank carefully for damage.

Clearance issue I'll bet. It was showing great oil pressure The crank has to be turned, cyl #4 is score badly.

    Re: ARP rod bolts.

You can also order the ARP rod bolts for a 318 (they are the same from what I remember in a post from a long time ago) and then you get 2 sets for about the same price...

Did you check the clearance when you put it together? Was it running rich, that will also do this.

Yep, 318/360 are the same rod bolts.

I didn't put this engine together. I never even ran the car, except for idleing. It may had been running rich. Also, you think too much timimg could off done that. I have another engine at the machine shop now. I asked them to swap the arp bolts onto another set of rods, and have them resize.

Nope, timing wouldn't have done that, especially at idle. Was the oil full of fuel? Did it smell burnt? That happened twice to my friends TIII, running rich and smoked his bearings,
