    Same but cheaper treadstone?

I found this website that sells intercoolers that seem EXACTLY the same as the treadstone intercoolers but seem to be much cheaper.

    http://www.vecco.com/products.php?sub_cat_id=17

    http://www.treadstoneperformance.com...85+Intercooler

Compare the #BMS18 to the TRV185 and they are identical yet the vecco is $70 cheaper!

    Thoughts?

    Re: Same but cheaper treadstone?

Back when I bought my treadstone intercooler, I bought it through Vecco.net. They used to sell the treadstone intercoolers off their site. So... maybe they are the same intercooler? Or... vecco and treadstone split and vecco made their own intercooler based off what they had seen from treadstone??

I want the TRV250 from Treadstone, flows 1492 cfm. The BMD25 has the same size core, an inch shorter overall, but flows 1780 cfm. And it's $100 cheaper.

My guess would be the cheaper one has fewer fins per inch, or fewer tubes overall. I do know that Treadstone puts their own endtanks on Spearco cores. Where does Vecco get their cores?

I heard the same thing about the treadstone coolers but the number of tubes does not match with the one I bought.

    Re: Same but cheaper treadstone?

i think whats going on there is seeing how vecco sells seperate parts, treadstone sells full pieces so they must be buying the parts and assembling and selling as a whole part with their own logo?

    Re: Same but cheaper treadstone?

Oh ok i didnt see that on the site. Maybe they both get this stuff from one supplier? They dont looks like they are a oval bar/plate though and instead rectangular which rounder is done on higher end intercoolers. These may be getting bought from someone that supplies the ebay ones or even these are the ones sold to ebay sellers that are making them. I know there is a lot of ebay IC's u gotta be careful with. The 2 companies this post is about is pretty good though and reputable. However they are selling to accompany a cheaper price so your not gettin the best but i havent heard anything bad about treadstone- but i know them for their manifolds/headers for the starquests. I never looked into their IC's.

I have the TRV185 which is comprable to the Spearco a lot of guys run. It has less tubes over the width of the cooler, i didnt count the fins per inch though. Overall it's not a bad cooler and probably worth it for the money vs the Spearco.

I compared it to a friends Spearco. I haven't seen a Vecco that I know of. I think it was 18 vs 21 IIRC.
