    TC3 Engine mounting

    *background*

Buiding up a '79 TC3 originially equipped with a 1.7 (no drivetrain present when I purchased it) converting it to a 2.2

    *problem*

Pass side engine mount is a totally different animal does not have the E-W thrubolt alignment nor the pair of 13 mm holddown bolts. Instead has a N-S thrubolt going thru a pair of ears to hold the mount in place.

    *questions*

Was the 1.7 and the 2.2 avail at the same time in the changeover production year? Since the tabs are built into the frame not really comfortable with chopping them out unless its a last resort. Has any one expereinced this before?

    Thanx in advance ;p

    Re: TC3 Engine mounting

They went to the 1.6 Pug motor in '83, the 2.2 started in '82, so there was a crossover period. If it were me I'd convert it over so I could use poly or MP mounts
