    Difference in distributors

I have been reading about the differences between the 85 and 86 T1 engines. I am aware of the different heads and piston as well as the LM and Dist. However, how can you tell the difference in distributors? Is there a part number on it ? I know that the two different distributers have different spark advances. The only thing that I have read is that the distributors caps are a little bit smaller on the 85. Is this true? Thanks.

    Re: Difference in distributors

the caps are a lot skinnier and taller on the '85
the plugs are the same, the advance curve is in the ecm
the hep is wired differently internally, car will start but feels like a 3,000 rev. limter
