    2.5 ignition timing

how do i check the ignition timing on my 2.5L turbo 5 speed ? You unhook the CTS is that the one near the thermo housing ? im just wanting to check it to make sure everythingis up to snuff.

im currently running a walbro 255, +20 injectors, stage 3 ecu, AFPR, mitsu turbo, and should be done hooking up my FMIC at the end of the week.

Ive read the timing should be set at 12, is that correct ? would that be good for my setup ?

Yes, unplug it, set the timing using the window on top of the trans, 12 degs it is and rehook up the CTS. Your all done. If the timing starts to jump, then aim for the middle.

Check the crown in the distributor underneath the HEP and see if it's loose in comparison to the shaft. I'm uncertain how much movement of the timing mark you are seeing...but excessive movement is a dead give away for this. If you have just a little bit than that is likely from the tolerances in the intermediate shaft/oil pump/distributor setup.
