    ARP Head Studs

    Tonight I was installing the head back on the rampage while torquing the head on bolt did get tight like the rest and the stud is steched very bad,why would this happen at 75 ft/lbs.

    What were you using to torque them with? Oil or the ARP lube?

    Did you clean all the fluid and crap out of the holes? Did you make sure the studs aren't bottomed out, if they are, you will get the stretchy feeling. I tighten them down, then back out 2 turns, then hold the stud while snugging the nut, then its safe to torque.

    One looks like and hourglass and I orderd some MP bolts as I dont feel like paying 99 bucks for another set that lasted aslong as cheap bolts.I am just geting fed up with this thing now.

    Maybe you got a bad set, I guess it happens although I've never heard of it or seen it,

    I had that happen to mine once. I felt it stretching and stopped. I took it out and cleaned the hole, put it back in and it was fine afterwards.
