I was looking over the MP catalog at the local dealership as I was ordering a spare headgasket.
I bought a used set of dual spring valve springs and looked over the MP retainer section. It recommends chrome moly for heavy duty, but they are for a single spring. The aluminum and titanium retainers were listed as for dual/single valve springs.
Are there any other choices in valve spring retainers for the dual spring valve springs?

The stock ones work fine with most springs. I'm assuming the springs you have are the MP061s. Otherwise chrome moly or titanium are upgrades. Don't use the aluminum ones, though.

Why can't one use the aluminum?
