Neon making funny noise at idle

My 1st gen SOHC neon is making a strange noise at idle and I have no idea where its coming from. It seems like its coming from the airbox area almost its like a gurgling semi metalic sound it goes away when I rev it up but is always making it at idle it also seems like a random pattern. Anyone got any ideas?

The car in a manual, could it still be the flywheel?

I did some research over on neons.org and it seems like it is the throwout bearing. It has all the same symptoms its only been doing it since its been cold out, and once it warms up it seems to go away.

are you leaking any fluid that looks like it could be a rear main seal?

Last month I went through a tranny R&R because of noises. What I first thought was a rear main seal leak along with throwout bearing, turned out to be a bad clutch cable and bearing/leak from the output shaft.

The clutch cable was bad because the rubber bushing between the two washers was missing.

Don't do a thing. I'm betting it's 95% a noise caused by an oil slinger on the input shaft that seems to work itself loose. Mine has been doing this noise for 3 years every winter. I really doubt a throw out bearing will fix anything.

No leaks from that area. The more I think about it the more it seems like its brought on by the cold so it doesnt look like I got anything to worry about

What an ironic thread, my buddy's SRT transplanted Neon is making the same noise, but sometimes it screechs, so I'll tell him not to worry,
