    555/520 Hybrid pro's and con's?

I'm running a 3.50 a520 with an OBX, thinking of going the hybrid route. What is the gearing gonna do, rev the engine higher, or lower, and what gears are most affected. I want to up my revs, engine is happy above 4500 rpm. Would a 3.87 a520 swap be a better idea?

i want to make myself a 3.77fd trans with the 568 gearset, it gives you a little more edge over the 3.85 and its not overkill like the 3.50

i think hybrid is good for the DOHC guys, as well as the high powered 2.5L's

    Check out this gearing calculator.

    http://www.locost7.info/gearcalc.php

I think there is so much which goes into selecting a FD that it is a very individual decision.

I know I will be making a 3.05FD hybrid for my omni, but I want incredible gas mileage and I will be running a 22" slick at the tallest along with 205/50r15s for the street. We will find out how that works.

I don't think I would even put a 3.50FD hybrid trans in our daytona as it needs the 3.85 just to get around town in stock form with the 205/55r16 tires on it.

When I had a 520/555 trans I found the gearing to be pretty long. It worked well with my big torque engine (over 500 foot pounds at full song), but untimately it wasn't ideal for drag racing, but LOTS of fun to hunt anything on the hyways with.

This is what I found for top speed (6,000 rpms) in each gear.
    1st about 70 kph (about 44 mph)
    2nd about 110 (about 68mph)
    3rd about 145 (about 91mph)
    4th could do 220 (about 137 mph)
5th , well let's just say the car would become very unstable and I backed out.

The numbers are aproximate, so don't bother arguing about them.

It's a great tranny, if that suits your driving style and engine output.
