    SC engine build parts list

Bored at work. Working on parts list for the engine build for the SC. 2.5 forged bottom end with DOHC Neon head.

    Bottom end:

    ARP main studs - $75
    ARP rod bolts - 32
    Freeze Plugs - 10
    Int Shaft bushings - 20
Sealed Power Rings - 80From FWD, will these work with my JE pistons?

*Main and Rod bearings to be ordered by machinist after checking crank.*

*Gaskets - somewhere here, someone was selling kits cheap*

    Head:

Head, valves, cams. . . should be good to go with stock Neon parts.
    Exhaust manifold:
    Mild steel flange - 25
    Weld Elles - 85
    Turbo Flange - 20

    Intake manifold:
    ????

    FWD Cam Gears - 270
    Timing Belt - 39
    Head Studs - 112

    Dizzy and adapter - 155
    Cap and Wires - 90

    Total: 1013

Can that be it???? What am I missing??? I have that much in just the carb on my V8 car.

Yes, Sealed Power rings work with the JE's.

Your forgetting align hone/bore with the arp main studs, its hit and miss if you need it but I would get it done anyways.

Deck the block, so the surface is nice and clean/true for the head gasket.

You need the fittings etc for the oil and coolant feeds and drain pipes.

I don't see an oil pump?

What oil pan are you going to use?

    Waterpump?

    Drive belts?

I would tack on another $500 for misc stuff, IE hose's, missed parts etc.

    Tryingbe sells the gaskets.

Machine work is a seperate issue. I trust my machinist fully. All I ever do is drop an engine off and pay when I pick it up completed.

Fittings for lines - figure that with misc. stuff.

OIL PUMP. Good call. For an oil pan, if I can't scrape up a 2.2 pan, I'll weld some baffles in the 2.5 pan.

Ok, sounds good, you didn't list it so I'd thought I'd throw it out. You will also need plugs etc to block off the holes in the head so it will need decking anyhow,

I personally prefer the stock pump, take it apart, if its not scored up, reuse it. I like to throw in the MP spring kit as you have to take out the relief valve anyhow, or you should to make sure its free. #P3690944
