    Re: Lets talk(civilized) about turbos.

i have the equivalent of the MP Plus turbo on a 2.5L. pretty much stock minus the intercooler, forged pistons, TU3" sv and 3" exhaust. full boost by ~3k in the lower gears and in the upper gears, less than that.

13.1 @ 104 with 18psi on a cool night. pump gas no alky.

If I missed it, I'll apologize now. I didn't see a straight answer on my housing question. Would it be better to change the exhaust or inlet side or both? I'm talking about just bolting on the larger housings.

I guess you are right. Even with the 9 psi launch, I still don't go above 20 psi until around 4500 rpms and I don't hit max boost till around 5000.

Do you think my spool time will decrease with a ported head, intake and header? If not I guess it is time for

Depends what your power goals and use are. Not sure you can make any gains from switching the compressor housing without changing the wheel to match.

46 trim To4e and a stage 1 wheel with a .63 housing is a good combo, to which we've already mentioned,

One correction here: stock< MP Plus (.63 turbine housing and a 60 trim wheel (stock housing inlet machined for the bigger wheel) < S60 same as MP Plus but with a S60 trim wheel (housing?).

Well, My Garrett(T03) was just rebuilt this past summer, that is why I asked. The other reason I asked is that it is said you can put different housings on the same wheels(I realize it differs from turbo to turbo). My thought is that with the bigger housing, it won't be able to make any pressure or very much.

I thought that too, then Simon said it wouldn't make any sense to do that. Not picking on anyone, just asking.

The + had a 60 trim T3 compressor like the Ford T3's. S60 is slightly different yet. Most weren't aware of the compressor being different as the Dodge garage only mentioned the .63 A/R housing.

Yeah ... remember that post tryingbe started when he picked one of them up? It's on the forum here with measurements too I believe.
I bought a used one from Brad in chicago a while back to replace a tired stock T2 on the '89 tona. Got it in the mail and figured to swap my T2 housing cover over because the MP+ in question had the earlier cover. Well guess what ... he wouldn't fit. Busted out the calipers and sure enough ..inducer was too big.

I know DDG says otherwise ... along with a few other members but I know that info isn't right. There's mine, tryingbe's, and Rob (Shadow on here) mentioned that he had a buddy that used to do rebuilds for garrett and he did verify the difference in comp wheels as spec'ed by garrett.

From what I understand, ma mopar offered a MP turbo and the MP+ turbo back in the day. I'm guessing that the MP turbo had the larger .63 housing only. The "+" added the 60 trim wheel. Sound right?

I don't know what compressor housing will fit the stock wheel and if you could find one, what difference it would make, which I would bet, nothing. The .63 exhaust housing is worth it.

Lets see if I have this right. Putting the .63 exhaust housing(just the housing) on a T3 stage 1(stock) exhaust wheel should make more power?
