    413 shifting issues

The trans in the spirit is really disliking the cold. When first starting out in the morning it does not want to shift out of first. After a block or two it decides to finally shift into second but when I come to the stop sign it wants to stay in second. Manually selecting first puts the trans back in first. I did a filter and fluid change 15,000 miles or so ago and it still looks nice and red, no burnt smell or anything. The trans probably has 185-190,000 on it now. I'm not sure as the odometer broke at 131,000 but I've had it for almost 4 years now figuring at least 12,000 a year. It has an external trans cooler only since I put the R/T rad/ic in this summer. Could it be running to cold? Just getting old and time for a rebuild? It slips slightly into 3rd once in a while but it seems to only be when I'm half on the gas and not winding it out to high. I've had the kick down get sticky in the past on other cars but this one is free. Let me know what you think.

Sounds like the typical governor issue, I would install the sonnax governor kit.

I would fix what ever is flaking metal off in your trans that would make your governor stick, bearings, diff, or gear sets
