For those using this turbo, is THIS what y'all use? I've seen some impressive results from the HE351 and for $250 it seems too good to be true!

I don't think that's the one your looking for....the one in those auctions is a electronic variable vein turbo.
You would want the regular HE351 which I believe came on an earlier model pickup than those turbos in the auctions you listed
Like already stated, that's the VGT version. I haven't had a chance to see how that one will work on a 2.2......yet!

What vehicles did the proper turbo come on? Does MTX/ATX matter?

OK. . . my next concern is available support. If I'm decide to run the Holset and I need it rebuilt or repaired, who do I go to?
With a Garrett I know I can call Chris and get everything fixed right up.
wouldnt another turbo be cheaper than a real rebuild?
Makes me wonder if these are the ones that are choking up and being replaced left and right by Dodge right now.
if you buy one with a good center section the rebuild is not that bad if the center section is junk your looking at 1300 dollars
Found a company "local" that deals in diesel stuff including turbos and rebuilds. They list Holset on their website, but I need to call them for any information.
About 90 miles from my place. Coworker who pulls a turbo diesel tractor deals with them.
If they have parts/repair service/new-used turbos available, I'll be in the money!!!

I paid about 200 for my Holset, in good shape, but decided to rebuild it anyways, for 80$. The shaft and thrust bearing are much larger than on garrett units. More durable, easy to rebuild, and parts are available but it takes some looking.
Called Midwest-Diesel today. They do not have any HE351CW's on hand, but can get new ones and they do rebuild them. I asked for a call back quote on a new one. His message stated that he needed more numbers off of the turbo. I didn't speak with him to find out what numbers he needs and since I don't have the turbo, I don't know what those numbers would be.
Anyone?
