    Couple of "timing" questions.

What is this deal that I have seen where the timing belt is hung up on the mount on the passenger side of the motor? Is this/will this be needed when I pull the head or just take the belt off?

Also, I have seen and read about the belt tensioner "tool". Where would someone pick up something like this? Autozone, Dealer?

    Thanks!
    Paul

I would take the belt off. It is probably faster, but I have never left it supported so I don't know for sure.

I have never used the tensioner tool either. I believe that craftsman makes a tensioner tool that supposedly will work on our motors amongst others, but I have never tried it out.

I've been searching for a while but I have not come up with anything so far. I'm looking for the tensioner tool listed here:
    http://www.thedodgegarage.com/tools.html

I even tried Snap-On but when I do a search for Dodge or Tensioner, all I get is a blank page

It lists the KD part #, and I know that the napa right by my house carries them, so I would try there.

    Tensioner Tool

Now, to see if my local Napa within walking distance has one.

    Thanks Cordes!

    No problem.

I don't know what I would do if I did not have a napa two houses away.

Do you happen to have the part number or is it the same as listed on Gary's site?

Me and Dad left the belt hang doing a head gasket once.
