Re: where to get a torque converter?

well .. using this post, is it really worth it to buy a great, expensive, and performance torque converter??

Im planning to buy one, the Hughes converter seems to be a good option, but the price diference is too much compared to a new normal one, so thats why im asking if its really important, and what will be the difference besides of the price.

ohh I want it for my race only car (A413, 2.5L Holset turbo)

    Thanks.

Yes, its important, the stockers are not built for high boost and abuse and it will fail. Its like using cast pistons, they will only work for so long,

Try Terry Ryan, aka "gasketmaster" for a converter.

If its upgraded and its done by a reputable company, it will take 30+ psi.

I used a stock (new) mopar torque well into the 10's (10.3 actually) the input shaft broke twice so now I have a stock converter with a 904 hub inside from Pats converters. It was cheap too.

Re: where to get a torque converter?

wow that's neat 10.3's! ! can't find my stock one. The first one I bought was from advance autoparts I couldn't get more than 2 psi off the line with the advance autoparts tourqe converter the stock one did better. I"m going to find out what the new one will do from fwd performance.

I have a entire automatic tranny if you want it, torque converter and all, $100 ... if you never got the other one that is.
