I have never had such a hard time pulling a crank pulley. I bent my old homemade puller that I've pulled a dozen of them with. Anybody got any tips? I'm planning to run out to call the auto parts store to see if they loan out pullers.

Let us know if you find an alternative. The home made ones work but are a pain.
Assume you have the outer pulleys off, and timing belt is off of the lower crank sprocket/pulley.
The culprit holding the sprocket on is either old grease that has gone bad, or rust.
In either case, apply small amounts of heat and penetrating oil and keep trying with your puller. Don't overheat the shaft as it could ruin your lower seal.
I would say heat.

Replace the center bolt with a all-stud with a nut and use a puller on it. I sell the all-stud and nut, by the way.
Fast and easy.
It is different than the one in my car. I usually just put a bolt and washer in the hole and press against it. Well, there is an extra lip in there that mine doesn't have. It apears that I need to just take the sprocket bolt part of the way out and push against it. I'm going either borrow or make another puller and go again.
Quit working on stuff when frustration sets in. I should have taken a break after removing the stubborn flywheel bolts and before I started on this.

I used a slide hammer on mine. I was putting new mains in so I wasn't worried about damage to the #3.

I'm so fustrated right now, I can't get the stupid thing to come out. I've used this puller before on another crank pulley and it work, this one is saying f*&^ you.
What puller are you using?
I'm using this ampro puller, the problem is that its not pulling straight out. So maybe something like what you came out with is the way the go, how much do you want for one of those? What puller are you using?
Like this one? This happened about 6 years ago....
The bolts are 'permanently' fused to the pulley. I believe it took 2 of us about 2 hours of swearing and throwing the damnit tool around to pull this one.
Aftwards, I felt that it was some kind of Dodge 2.2 modern art and couldn't bring myself to toss it.
Enjoy.

If I remember right, I used my crank pulley as the puller for my sprocket somehow. I bent the snot out of the pulley getting the sprocket off. I thought, no big deal, I'll just buy and under drive kit from Cindy. Then I heard you had to start modifying the front seal to get the under drive kit to work properly ... time for a junk yard trip.
