    Found this little suprise upon pulling my motor/transmission

    Finally got around to pulling my motor and transmission last night and when I separated the motor and transmission found that the clutch had some pretty nice cracks in it:



    It's an FWD Performance 4 puck clutch that has only about 1000 miles on it. Looks like I'm also going clutch shopping....

    are those actually cracks or lube that's that's been centrifugally thrown out ?

    ya the crack continues on into another separate hunk o metal.

    Thank god, after looking at it closer I have to agree that it's lube. Also, is it normal for the teeth to be torn up like they are on the right side?

    Again I think its grease on the teeth.

    Clean it all up and look at it again

    That is grease, get some brake cleaner, put it on a rag and wipe it off. I don't see any teeth being torn up? Got a better pic.

    it was prolly the grease thats on the shaft on the transmission........

    Looks like the one bigger "crack" is smudged a little, har har.
