    The man at the drive shaft shop here has built these axles for a while and says that they are only about 80 per efficient for power transfer where as the unequal length is apporx 90 percent efficient. I never could get my two piece apart so I am changing mine over. Free power

    If you drill and tap the intermediate shaft for a zirk fitting you can use a grease gun to push the axle out quite easily. It works very well.

    Wow, I can't imagine one not coming out given how one of the axles I did shot out of there. I guess if it were completely fused together by rust it would be a possibility though.

    It was a struggle even for the grease gun. Never did get it apart.

    If it comes apart that hard the splines will probably be damaged by the rust and the assembly should be tossed anyway.

    Hi guys,I see spindles were mentioned and 88-90 omni axles,my problem is a modifyied daytona intermediate shaft ( shorted to the omni's length)internal splines r a bit bigger than that of the omni's,will the auto axles fit the bigger splines on the daytona's int.med shaft!? or was the discussion in reference to the daytona's intermediate shaft also.Thx gents.errol
