I need a steering column for a 91 Shadow, found some 90's but unsure if they will work as the yard is a few miles away.

Are you asking due to the coupler for the rack, or the electronics? My 90' Shadow column is compatible with the latter ones, but from looking at the FSM, I think 90 was a transitional year for some stuff on there.
Everything. I know the 89's are the old style Saginaw but some 90's had the different column. I matched up the Saginaw, all the connectors are different also,

I know you should be able to knock the coupler off and use the old one. I have also taken an ignition switch off of a newer van (relative to my shadow) and put it in the shadow. If I had to lay money on it, I would say they are compatible.
