    having issues

I am sure someone has done some sort of write up on this but I need help as soon as possible. I got the 84 laser running, but now she wont idle. I checked all the vacuum lines and ran them the way they are supposed to be ran but now she does not idle at all. I will start it up and it will just die if I am not on the pedal just a little bit to keep the rpm up. also she stutters and backfires at low rpm until about 4000.

    Re: having issues

would the timing jump just by hooking up the vac lines correctly

    Re: having issues

No, but having the vac lines hooked up incorrectly won't help the car to run right.

    Re: having issues

the timing was set when the car was running great, before the head gasket went bad. I will double check, but I think it is something else

sounds like cam timing off to me. Did you do it right with the coolant sensor unplugged and all that?

    Re: having issues

So the timing is correct. The limited power light is on. but i haven't been able to work on it due to a broken arm from a 4-wheeler accident

    Re: having issues

13 means you don't have vac hooked up to the map properly or there is a leak somewhere in the line. Fix that first and then pull the rest.

    Re: having issues

hook it up correctly, as in having some vac line going to the wastegate and to a reference, either through the solenoids, manual boost controller, or directly.

    Re: having issues

All vacuum lines and everything else is hooked up correctly. I have gone threw the vac lines 3 times now. The car threw the overboost code. then it went out. not when driving the vehicle at wot it does not throw any codes, just falls on its face and hard

    Re: having issues

Either vac is not reaching the WG can as Berry suggested, or the arm on the SV or WG can is seized shut.

    Re: having issues

Well I got it fixed. Thank you berry. I am sorry that i didnt think it was the vacuum, but evedently it was. I replaced all the line and now she runs. now the only problem that I am having is the car will stumble when i punch the gas
