Hi Tried a search and again and now I ask to make sure Wix is still the best and I'd like to try a longer filter and the small block ferd is too large a dia. to clear the Alt. on my motor are there any longer ones I could try? IF not there's always stock!!

Wix is best choice.
AFAIK, there is stock and then there is SBF. As you know, the SBF is larger diameter. I don't know of one that is the small diameter but longer.
IMO, stock is just fine. I've never heard anyone say that they lost an engine because they were running a stock Wix filter.

The rest of his work is "Biblical" too.
51085 is the one for most Mopar V8's It's the big diameter but not as long as the 51515.
Wix, K&N, or Mobil 1. Purolator premium versions are pretty good too.
I use an orange one.

I've been using a Purolator "Pure One" for some time now.
....I just wish that they didn't chnge the color of the filter to a babyshit yellow.
I like the K&N and Mobil 1 filters.
napa gold filters are nice and they have the anti-drainback feature that is called for on the 2.2/2.5!
I like Motorcraft F1-A and Proline stuff.
Do all of the mentioned brands of filters have the anti drain back feature?
i run the purolator pure one... and that has the better silicone anti drainback valve... alotta the cheaper ones have just a black rubber anti drainback valve some have a metal spring to help some dont have any (fram) cough cough but im not positive on that one
someone told me that fram is the worst filter you can buy.... and if you have to run a fram the cheaper one is better than the expensive one
Mobil 1 filter ftw.
I use the Mobil 1 in everything. As long as they make them like they do I will not use another brand.

wix 51348 is the stock length(I run this personly)
wix 51515 is the old style v8 but it will fit, same thread, just bigger
wix 51085 is just the shorter version of the 51515
I run the bigger Mobile 1. I don't remember the number. The Mobile 1 filters are all the same price. Since I have the space for it, I run the bigger one.
