A) the 'thrust' main bearing was wiped out and the pressure from the dual pp clutch was killing it further causing a huge drag resistance and the stall or

B) the CPS is just reading the edge of the flywheel and when pressure is applied to the clutch, the flywheel moves just enough to lose the read.

Either way, you have bigger issues to deal with first, sorry about that
Yeah... that was the direction i was going with him on another forum. Too much thrust clearance and a marginal CPS read. This issue is something going back to the prior rebuild as well.

He also added length to the external clutch release pivot arm to get sufficient movement to fully release the clutch, so thinking that the flywheel positioning related to the bellhousing may affect the CPS read.
