    dies when pressing clutch

just got my R/T up and running (again) now the car likes to die or almost die whenever i press the clutch in when the car is warmed up. im getting 6 oil psi when warm and at idle. when reving the oil pressure goes up at double the rpm ex: when at 2000rpm oil psi is 40 psi

i have a TU duel PP and kevlar combo.

If i press the clutch in slowly the rpms go down only a few and the car does not die. When pressing in normaly, rpms drop down to 500 rpms and in most cases the car dies.

Sometimes the car dies when i try to rev it when im idling.

Once died and trying to start it back up it misses a few times before finally starting up again

i have a stage 3 cal fwd cal and it also does this when i have the stock cal plugged in.

    there's no codes

    Re: dies when pressing clutch

Will it idle at all? If so what is the idle speed? Is the timing set correctly? Since you say that you just got it fired up, I would say ign. timing, but it's a TIII so that's obviously not it. Do you have the map hooked up properly with no vac leaks? What vac are you pulling if you can get it to idle at all?

If you are only pulling 14" of vac, I would check the timing.

I don't know what the specs are, but I have seen a Taft S3 idle at 12" or so IIRC. I would think that a "mild performance" cam shouldn't drop your vac that drastically. Did you degree the cams?

I still think those cams are bunk. 14" is too low for stage 1 cams and most likely your issue with the idle.

that is weird- check the harness maybe when you push the pedal down, it moves he harness when the cable flexes a bit and makes the engine skip-miss.

    Re: dies when pressing clutch

Crazy thought but it would only take you 5 minutes or less to try it. Loosen the holdown for the CPS, then try to scoot it a little bit more twards the engine. GIve it a shot

    Re: dies when pressing clutch

Dude that blows. What blew up the first time? Was the issue fully addressed for the second build? My thought for the stalling problem was either:

    A) the 'thrust' main bearing was wiped out and the pressure from the dual pp clutch was killing it further causing a huge drag resistance and the stall or

    B) the CPS is just reading the edge of the flywheel and when pressure is applied to the clutch, the flywheel moves just enough to lose the read.

Either way, you have bigger issues to deal with first, sorry about that
