Spirit R/T spoiler replica from generic lip spoiler?

I'm a fan of the small, understated spoiler on the Spirit R/T and would like to do something similar for my ES.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to buy a generic ABS lip spoiler off of Ebay and make a passable Spirit R/T spoiler replica out of it?

What I had in mind was buying something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/M5-St...2em118Q2el1247 that's a few inches too long (they do custom lengths) and cutting/shaping to get the proper shape and overhang on the ends. I have access to an R/T spoiler to use as a pattern, so that part shouldn't be too bad.

I'm not looking to make a perfect copy, just something that looks close and has about the same effect on the appearance of the car that a stock spoiler would.

Any thoughts on how this would turn out? Maybe somebody that has had a similar idea and tried it could share some insight?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Edit: I got my wires crossed. The spoilers I'm looking at claim to be made out of PVC or some kind of rubber material, not ABS.

Not sure how easy those would be to work with if they are made out of a rubbery material. What's the going price on a used R/T spoiler? I would imagine they aren't too hard to find.

I've got a long way to go before I'll be ready for it. Gotta get it under paint, reassemble, swap in a new underhood harness, get the head and turbo swapped over from the Sundance, and get the auto trans in shape... But yeah, if you've got one you would sell, that would be great! The main reason I'd ruled out using a stock spoiler was that I didn't know how hard it would be to find one when I get ready to put it on.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Yeah you just have to drill some holes and it bolts on, kinda tricky to get the nuts on but not bad

I doubt John will mind if I pull the spoiler off of his (my old) R/T. Then I can measure the location of the holes and lay them out in grease pencil on the ES trunk lid.
