    hood scoop

put a hood scoop on the van today, figured id make it somewhat functional so i cut a hole in the hood, attached it to the hood with 3m tape and some sheetmetal screws, jbwelded the underside of the screws to make sure they dont come out then rtv'd all the way around it like caulk, and re sprayed the hood with black bedliner paint, lol! should make for some cooler temps

It's different; but then Mini Van Owners are a BREED apart from all others.
So when are you going to take it to the track ?

    Re: hood scoop

well it has a mesh metal screen to stop anything, its painted black so you cant see it barely, already has some bugs stuck to it,lol! , i had a ss style hood on a stratus 2.4 with a similiar scoop in the middle of the hood and water or anything was never really a issue, maybe in a really hard rainstorm it mite become a issue but i dont see it being a problem really. ive had the stratus in some pretty hard rain storms and even snow and never was a problem

    Re: hood scoop

I removed the weather strip from top of the firewall to let in some air and Bryan (DAVE) cut a hole in the driver's front fender (outer & inner) to let in some more. If this does not work I will be Shimming the rear of the hood like we did back in the old muscle cars days.
