    oil pump

hi all i just bought a 90 shadow es 2.5 turbo and the guy before me couldent get it runnin, and i think it had something to do with the 87 cam gear and the 90 beltor the distributer on backwards but the first issue was no power to the coil, tried jumping it from the batt, still nothing, afrter spraying break kleen oth the computer connetctor it poped a bit,n finely got it running but with no oil press, and it ran for about 30 to40 seconds with the oil light on. my question is will a 89/90 2.2 tbi oil pump work in the 90 turbo 2.5 moter if i just use the right pick up tube? or are they different? i think they are the same but i just want to make sure. thanks(also i want to make it clear i have 0 oil press, not low,but none)

Engine is toast if you ran the engine with 0 oil pressure for 30 - 40 seconds.

Do you have another oil pressure sensor? I'd check that first.

ran it a combined time of 30 sec not all at once and i took a plug out of the distrabution block started it for a few seconds and nothing came out, n dought its compleatly toast as ive have had other shadows have no oil press for a few seconds and they still run, but i agree it didnt do any good for it, do you think the pumps are interchangeble?

Pumps are interchangeable. It could be the aux shaft gear is stripped hence the no starting issues. I would also drop the pan and check all the bearings before putting the new pump in.
