    Blowing smoke everywhere!!

Hey there. I was driving my car the other day and out of nowhere there, it started smoking like crazy. the car runs great and sounds fine, just has a ton of smoke coming out of the tail pipe. i was wondering if it may be the seals in the turbo or the valve seals are bad. the car is not drivable at all. before i start tearing the engine apart i wanted some more insite here. i am running a top mount intercooler and there is oil in the intake manifold and throttle body?
thanks again. It is an 85 shelby charger turbo.

    Color of smoke?
Result of compression test? Result of leak down test?

What do the plugs look like?

Take a pencil light and look into the bores, what do you see?

plugs are a little brown, not filed out or burnt. pcv valve was a little gummy. I only drive the car 300miles a year. if that.

Does it only smoke after the car is warmed up?

Rebuilt a 84 Laser a couple months ago, that smoked heavily after it warmed up.
Pulled the head, removed the manifolds and two of the exhaust ports were a oily/black/sooty mess. Turned out to be valve guides. Of course the O2 not working, and the vacuum line to the FPR and MAP being broken didn't help either... G.P.

    Question Re: Blowing smoke everywhere!!

If it's white, you may have a blown head gasket. Check your plugs to see if they're wet and smell like anti-freeze.

If it's blue, you may have lost the seal in your turbo. I had an '87 Pacifica T1 that blew a seal at 130K, but it only smoked at a certain temperature range. Cold engine and normal/hot it was okay. Warming up, it would smoke like a James Bond gizmo.

Yeah, if the plugs look normal then I'd say check the turbo. It must be leaking oil right into the exhaust side.
