Sorry I had no idea there was a story that went with it. Ouch. Do you still have the car?

If it was stock...
First it starts as a Driver, then you'll just take it to the track once, and then you'll just drop in a 2.4, and then you'll just toss a turbo on the 2.4 because you came across an SRT turbofold for cheap, and then you'll just intercool it,and then It runs only on race gas,and then you break a oil pump and then sell everything for pennies on the dollar.
Do you see how much time and money this car will SAVE you? You've already skipped steps 1-4 and are ahead of the game.
A 51,000 mile R/T goes for what, $3800? Steps 1-4 will cost way more than $200.
Now that you mention it ..As for being a driver, I actually think it would be pretty good. It's pretty tame (low rpm torque) and not so powerful that you'll be blowing axles out of it. Yet it's quicker than all but the most hairy cammed 8100rpm Neons. If you sell the 3.94 R/T trans (they go for decent money on the neon sites) and get a 3.55 trans from a SOHC it would probably get pretty good mileage. The turbo 2.4 torque would be great on the street with the 3.55 trans.
Like I've been saying, it depends what direction you want to go with it.
It's all there; wide band, adjustable RR fuel pressure regulator.
Tune it to run 5 psi on 87 with out an intercooler.
Tune it to run 5 psi on 93 and shoot for mileage.
Tune it to run 8 psi on 93 with out an intercooler.
Tune it to run 15 psi on 93 with the intercooler.
or if Craig buys it 28 psi on 115 with an intercooler.
Anyway, thanks for the bumpage.
Ron
LOL, yeah you know me, I cant keep anything 'stock' but driving 50 miles a day, I'd be down with a DOHC 2.0L making 40mpg right now

The transmission makes a big difference, as does running premium on the DOHC engines. Running 87 in them makes them get crap mileage.
