    Clutch Cable differences??

Just got a T2 and 1991 A-568 from an R/T into my 85 600ES and it took a LOT of effort to pull the clutch cable tight enough to get the clip in. Now when i drive, the clutch slips anytime i give it any power (about 7psi of boost or more). Now i'm not sure if the clutch is bad (It looked ok when i put it in) or if its because the cable is a bit short and its disengaging the clutch slightly when i drive??? Are there different clutch cables?? I think i'm using an 88 Shelby Z clutch cable and not one from the 1991 A-568?? Any help please i neeed to get this fixed!!!

    Thanks,

    Chris

Did you adjust the clutch after you installed it? you lift up the clutch pedal to adjust.

The adjuster is maxed out at the highest point and it still is too far engaged. I disconnected the cable last night and drove the car without the clutch cable and it holds full boost with no slippage so the cable is definately too tight. Looks like a need a longer cable like from a spirit or something.
