1985 Charger Power module cooling info

Hello all, Concerning the power module for my "85" Shelby Charger, how important is it to provide air flow through the plastic housing around the power module. I wont be using the stock air cleaner which is attached to the P/M housing.
I notice that therre is an oval hole behind the left front headlight that acts as an intake for the P/M. Is this primarily a dead air space, or will the forward motion of the car cause sufficient air flow over the components inside the P/M housing?
    Thanks, jeff1234

I don't know that there is any airflow through there at speed, but I have read that people have blocked off both of the openings to prove that you don't need the hoses and the PM will live. I have never run the hose from the PM or SBEC in my cars and have had no ill effects because of it.

Hey guys, Thanks for you input. I'm in the process of piping my intercooler and this makes the job significantly easier. Still, I wonder if I will get this job done this year. Probably more headway when motorcycle riding season is over. LOL
