no power past 3.5k maybe 4k

I just bought an 89 lebaron 5spd turbo with 2.5
Problem is the car feels ok until the higher rpms I dont even know if it will pull all the way to 6k I have not even had it close
I am currently running just 7psi I dont feel that the car should die off like this I will check the timing tomorrow and I will check for a clogged cat but is it possible to be in limp mode with no engine light on

i would do just what you said. timing then cat. only if the CEL doesnt work. also you may want to pull the codes to see what if any codes are stored.

Cam timing. Off a tooth will give you the same result your experiencing. Fuel pump volume, plugged filter, etc also can give you this result.

I got the checked the cam timing and it was off so I set it and then reset the base timing and the car apears to to running good

what do most of you guys run your timing at without an intercooler and about 12 psi

We see this cam timing error all the time, especially when someone tries to do their own headgasket or T/B replacement.

Ditto. 12 degrees with the CTS connector pulled.

12 degrees with the coolant temp sensor unhooked, just in case you might think cts stands for charge temp sensor.

Depends on what octane gas your running. If your not using premium and some brands of 91, I wouldn't run 12, maybe try 10 and listen/check for detonation and of course, adjust as necessary.

Yeah it is still really hot out here in AZ I have it set now at about 10* and just a hint of ping so I will back off to 8-9 untill it cools off out here
I also realized the injectors are too small so that will be upgraded next untill then I will lower boost to 7-8
at 12psi and 10* timing the plugs still look ok but I will have the wideband in this week so I will play a little then but for now I will lower and be safe

That would be an ACT for the air charge temp sensor.

Yeah... I forget that some don't have access to 94 octane. My bad.
And not all timing lights read accurately. There can be some minor variation there too.

Actually, Dodge calls it a CAT or Charge Air Temp sensor,

This must be one of the most debated topics ever, personally I'm going to call it a charge temp sensor, but thats what I'm used to calling it.
