SOS (1984 Daytona Manual Trans Swap) in Dayton, Ohio.

Any one around Dayton, Ohio know how to swap a manual trans in a 1984 Daytona Turbo Z, Manual 5 speed? Need some serious help or just some tips and advice from you guys. Thanks!

I'm gonna do the same thing in the future.

You'll need, the brake/clutch pedals (pulling the dash out or at least rolling it back)
the bracket that goes on the shock tower to hold the clutch cable in place
the mount for the bobble strut on the k member (or a different k member out of a 5 speed car)
the different shifter plate out of a 5 speed car for your center console
to drill holes for the cable shift


I have been gathering parts to swap a 555 in my 84 Turbo Z which has a a413 in it now.... but haven't had a reason or opportunity to put it in yet! Let me know of any difficulties you have.

There are about a half dozen people I've talked to who have alreay done this (active on the boards at least) GOOD LUCK!

I di dthe swap in my Rampage. It's not hard at all. Just a little time consuming getting all the parts pulled and puttig it back together.

DId anything ever happen with this swap or install? I have yet the need/opportunity to do so to mine yet (Maybe this spring)
