Tricks to removing power seat without power?

I was thinking of pulling the front seats out of my IROC R/T parts car for a test fit in something else (SRT-4; I'd have to see if the tracks would swap though.) and I soon discovered that the seat was set way back and since the car was totalled by a severe engine fire, there is no way to use the original battery cables to put power in the car to try and move the seat forward. I was just curious if there was an easy trick to get the seat to move forard to get access to the rear mounting bolts.

I would place a battery inside the car and run a wire from the positive terminal and tap into to the power seat wire.

Our just unplug the power seat wire connectors and cut off the end that plug into the power seat connector. Run your wires from the battery to the connector that you cut and then plug it back into the power seat connector and then sing "I Got The Power"

    Are we connecting on this?

John - Im not sure how the Daytonas are, but on all of the cars Ive delt with the rear studs are held in place kind of permanent. So if thats true, all you should have to do is take the nut off from under the car and the back should be free. Take the front mounting bolts out, and the seat should come out.

If he IS successful getting it out he can break out his big boombox, sling it on his shoulder, grab his posse, and crank this as he's walking down the street...

    Fleckster....

The way I've done it in the past was to use a battery from a cordless power tool..... I use a 18V cheapo Ryobi battery....Works great in the Junk yard.... Reach under the seat pull the wires loose from the connector and just run two extra power leads from the battery to the connector.

BTW installing a power seat on any turbo dodge is not hard.... I put one on the CSX-T for Dad and painted the side covers to match the interior with SEM paint. It's much better!

As for installing them in the SRT?...hum.... I know those Viper seats hurt after a bit.... I'm thinking my spare seat will get taken apart and widen about 1/2 so I fit better in the seat.... Not so good on my back! They have a thick metal wire that rubs my leg and makes me sit sideways in the seat....My other thought was to remove the wire and install a smaller gauge wire in its place...something more flexible
