    89 Spirit ES Turbo I (White) Michigan UPDATED

    I need to get rid of a project, Selling or Parting.

    quick facts:

    89 Spirit ES
    2.5L Turbo 1 Engine with around 92k miles (same as body)
    Runs/Drives

    The bad:
    The front of the passenger and driver floors have rusted through, its worse then i originally saw but in all honestly it could be patched while the new owner cut a new panel from a donar car. (ill post pics later im at work)

    The rust does go partially into the wheel well (also will post pics later as well)

    The good:

    New Hall Effect Pickup
    Fresh oil (Wix filter and mobil 1 fluid)
    Trans Filter and Fluid (More mobil 1)
    Teflon Rear main seal
    RN9YC Plugs
    180* T-Stat
    Optima Red-Top
    3" Downpipe (iirc was installed by last owner)
    New Valve Cover gasket and Oil pan gasket
    New PS pump
    New Steering rack and moog tierod ends
    Redid rotting vacuum lines but they need to be gone through again
    The head on the car is newerer from last owner from a spark plug change gone wrong
    Vac/Boost guage installed but its sitting there, was more to test out lines and never removed it.
    Dawes gauge in car as well, not installed though

    The newly rebuilt trans slips again after driving it for a while so i had bought parts to convert this to a 5-speed so those parts come as well.
    Parts are:
    89 a-555 trans
    4-puck Ceramic clutch
    Pressureplate and flywheel
    Shifter and pedals out of a daytona iirc and clutch cable

    Basically all you need are the bolts for the pressureplate and trans mount(s) to be all set to install it.

    Bump, car is for sale still, if you wanna tire kick go ahead. Looking to have this gone by spring-ish if someone is looking for one or needs parts.

    So far it looks like ill be putting it up for sale in the spring and lookin for an R/T, or possible pulling the Drivetrain, accents, and wheels and maybe finding a donor car.

    The floors had rusted through, they have been patched with sheetmetal for the time being but the rust extends into the rockers, if the buyer intends to daily drive vehicle just know one day your door will not shut and the car will sit a little crooked =)

    The car does not currently have a bobble strut installed and should have one before being driven daily or driven hard.

    The radio (Infinity System) seems to work when it wants to, i usually just bring my ipod so this is minor.

    The good:
    With the newly swapped trans this car runs the way it should, i would not hesitate to drive the car long distances.

    Price: im definatly flexable on the price, i'd like to get out close to what ive put in (wouldnt we all) so its 800 OBO, but again flexable expically w/o the optima battery

    bump, its almost spring and im lookin for something new. Price is the same 800obo.

    Two weeks ago i did another oil change with a mobil one filter and amsoil oil.

    Ive put about 2k miles on it since the swap and it still drives the way it should, i would not hesitate to drive this on whatever trip home it would need, its a great candidate for a donar swap.


    I am currently looking at buying a 91,92 R/T or 89 CSX so i would also be open to trades, even if they need some work + cash or w/e.

    Ya i'd consider it, a few questions tho.

    Some of the pics in your photobucket are of odd corners, is this where bondo was used or were you showing that there is no rust/the shape of these usually rust spots? I read about the two softspots, but explain plx =)
    Does the turbo still smoke?
    Does the PS still leak?
    How often has it been driven since you got it, sept of 06 right?
    Are the pics on page 2 of your photobucket of it in the autoshop before the paint job?
    How much oil does it leak from the engine?
    How much you lookin for with the 16" pumpers if you still have em?
