    Question clutch cable lengths?

I have an 89 lancer Shelby TII A555 new clutch (new vehicle to me)
Im having clutch engagement problems i almost have to punch to pedal through the floor pan before it will release , the adjuster is not even starting to engage(spring is fully stretched)
The previous own snapped the last cable and replaced it with an unknown one from a wrecker
I have a good used cable from 89 daytona tII a555 will this work? Anyone know the break down if its year, model or both

There are 3? different lengths, but I have never had any problems and many parts stores now stock only one of the lengths. I would give it a try as you don't have much to lose since they are so easy to swap.

Try looking up the cable for different applications on napaonline.com. Their catalog will show the lengths.

i know of two different lenghts. the 523 uses a different lenght cable. the 89 daytona should be direct replacement for the lebaron.

Try the new cable and see? Takes less than 15 minutes to put it on.

Just swap in the cable works great , the cable were the same over-all length but the rear mounting point was a inch and 1/2 off
    time to load test

    Re: clutch cable lengths?

I had this issue earlier in the year with my shadow.
there are actually at least 4 different lengths.
    Lbody is VERY short
    Gbody is long
    Pbody 87-89 is middle length
Pbody 90-94 is about 1'' longer then 87-89

I had cables from all of the above PLUS a neon cable. my problem was i had a 92 trans in an 89 car. At some point in the 90myr dodge changed the pivot point on the trans fork requiring a longer cable. You can cut down the keyway and move the fork or get the right cable. I ended up needed the cable from a 92 shadow for my clutch to work.
