Bought a iron worker for the shop a while ago. An electrician neighbor did the 240 for me and added a switch. It is an electric shear and punch. I added wheels so I could move it out to do long stock.

Got the wall finished and painted.
But with Carlisle and SDAC and catching up on things, have not worked on it. Just worked in it. Got a new toy parked in it.

Wow, I would say that is definitely a dream build. From the looks of it here was A LOT of planning involved. I plan to buy my own lot and build how I want to some day. So did you do most of the excavation or did you know some people? I wouldn't know where to start. I'll be doing good to finish the mini barn in the back yard.

I had a pro do most of the excavation, he didn't return to finish it because of rain. He picked up his machinery and never returned. He told me he would not bill me because of not finishing it. I rented a bobcat and finished it myself a couple weeks later. I then dug the foundation myself by using a hand shovel. 20 inches deep and 20 inches wide.
I made and set up the forms for the concrete pour. But hired the concrete done.

Only 20 inches deep? Frost line in PA is 32 inches, I would imagine deeper in oregon.

Johnny, I don't know how cold it gets on the other side of the planet ( ) but is that building going to be cold in the winter without insulation on the walls?

The south wall, west wall and 1/3 of the east wall are insulated so far. The ceiling is also.
So just need to finish, but was waiting for the rainy season to do it. As in, want to be inside anyway.
Also looking for a wood stove, want to add that soon.

Got back to working on the shop a little more. Added some insulation to the north wall where the wood stove will be added. Now I need to add fire rated sheet rock. But that wall is taller than I can sheet rock by myself!

Yes,it's better but more money. I am insulation a little at a time as I have a little extra money.

That's what it might take (scaffolding). I don't look forward to it.
I try to do everything myself, but I know I can't do this.

    Re: building of a dream

Related to the shop, I just spent all my extra time putting up new building. I have a 2500 gallon water tank that stores my well water. It needed covered to stop it from freezing, keep the sun off in summer and just to look better. So here are a few photos of it going up. I made it so it would look like a mini version of the shop.
