Finished the back side, filled in with drain rock and made a rock path to the water tank building that also has garden tools in it.

    Re: building of a dream

Shop has had just part of one wall not insulated. Decided to finally finish it this week. Started it and go this far yesterday. Did more today but forgot to take a photo. Also making a big mess in the shop.

See the part that is not insulated above the roll-up door?
    (door is 12 x 12 ft.)
Got that insulated now. All the shop is insulated now.

Also installed a garage door opener last year.

Also installed a garage door opener last year.

Liftmaster 8500? I installed one of those in my shed and have a second to install on another door. I may end up with 4 of them eventually. They're so much easier to install. Took the most time running the power from the breaker box. I have to get the overhead door company back because when they installed the drums they mounted them to far in and when the door gets all the way up the cable rubs on the side of the door tripping the cable switch because it bounces. Sucks because they are going to have to unwind the springs on all 4 doors to move the drum.

Yes. The only lift that would work with the way my door raises way above...so it won't hit the car on the lift.

    Re: building of a dream

Wall is finally done. Now I can put the shop back together.
Pained, 45" of grey metal topped by red metal trim.
Also built a rack to hold shorter metal tubing and steel pieces.

The two small chains hanging down will hold a 4 ft. light above the drill presses.

    Re: building of a dream

My last wall to paint was finished this last weekend.
before and after shot...the only before shot I could find.
    (my dad, brother and me)

Got all the stuff hung back in a organized fashion.

Amazingly cool project! Maybe one day I do something similar on a slightly smaller scale. I'd never be in my house.

    Re: building of a dream

In the winter when its raining it is such a blessing to have a shop.
When its nice out, with the doors and windows open its also a joy.
But then, thats when neighbors always stop to see what I am up to now.

    Re: building of a dream

Bought windows years ago, just never installed them.
    Now finally installed today.
These are located on the 2nd story.
Now in the summer I can get a breeze and cool off the up stairs....where my shelves of parts are and shipping area is.

Next step is to finish insulation there and finish it off.
