justed added the energy suspension bushings to my 89 CSX with the 1 1/4" front bar, also added the ES A arm bushings. Unreal perfect fit and very very nice on the road. There isn't a problem other than sloppy A arms and crudy sway bar. I sanded my bar down smooth and painted it. I also run the notch in the bushing forward, not back like one of these photos. The stock A arm bushings let the A arm slop forward and back, changing the geometry the sway bar uses. Got the poly and green goo from Johnny and the suspension moves nicely. Now using these inner bushings to make the big bar fit a mini van, thats what I'm looking at. But still the bar is working with a couple dents and ES poly on the van, just doesn't look good.

Energy doesn't make the bushings 1-1/4", did you drill them out?

other than A arm bushings and sway bar bushings ES has that you have sold there isn't much else anyway from them.

I also noticed better placement after using the ES A arm bushings with the sway bar bushings. As old as these cars are the suspension is "walking around" a bit with rubber. With ES A arm and sway bar bushings together, there is no problem with the 89 and 90s A arms.

As for the early A arms I have faught them for many years with the smaller round front bushings. I found the cure though as for the first time I did a set in the winter. Put the smaller bushing in the freezer over night, then quikly install it. They go fast and easy with no squish. And with the early ones the sway bars fit right with the poly in the A arms.

Not doing the A arms with the sway bar is down right stupid really. They are dirt cheap and the cars with any power can eat tires and follow ruts, not to mention the torque steer from rubber. The newer 89-90 rubber has huge air holes like a stock engine mount, to help them slop around even more. crazy

Johny, if all you have to do is drill out an Energy Suspension bushing, why bother making your own mold?

I do have a suggestion for a product idea though. Polyurathane lower strut spring seat isolator bushings. They are sandwhiched between the strut perch and the coil spring on the front struts. I'm 90% positive it's the same bushing used on all year non-L-Body K-Cars (and dirivites) and minivans. And it's the same one used on both sides of the car so you would get maximum value for your tooling costs.

I don't buy and re-sell Energy swaybar bushings any longer. I make my own now.

I would be interested in making the spring cushion.
First, are they still available from the dealer or any where else?
CAN I get a real good sample to make a mold from?

How many people would really be interested in buying these?

Those cusions should be availble as new from the dealer. I can get you a PN, but you'll have to wait until I get home tonight. Aftermarket companies such as KYB, Monroe, Gabreil, ect make them as well... I got that pic from NAPA's site, but I'm unsure of the brand. In all honesty, if you were to take on this project, I'd get a new one from the dealer to use as your mold. More expensive, yes, but atleast this way you get an orginal design. Some times aftermarket companies like to change things a little.

My issue is, if all these company's ,make them, why would people buy them from me? As mine might cost more.

    Re: 1-1/4" anti-swaybar bushings POLL!

I show two pn's for daytona... i dunno why, and i dont know the difference

    4014441 used from 87-88 and 91-93
    4404336 used 89-90

perhaps 84-86 didnt use them???? i suppose the dealer can verify pn's and applications/ years.

but as far as why to buy from you, well your product would be polyurathane vs rubber from eveyone else. as far as price, i suppose most would expect a preimuim for a premium part, but i think OEM rubbers from mopar are about $35 each, the aftermarket ones i've seen listed for the $50 range each, so I suppose you'd have to be in the $35-$50 to be compettive...... and I'm not sure if you'd sell enough to make it worth your while or what it would cost you in materials/ labor to make them. you would have to make that call.

also, as a side note, how come you don't have your own vendor section like fwdp?

Thanks for the part numbers. I am sure I could make them for the lower price.
Now, can we see how many would buy them?

All the same part number, why the separate listings I wonder.

    Thanks for the number.

    Re: 1-1/4" anti-swaybar bushings POLL!

those were a direct copy & paste from my local dealers online parts dept search box. I'm not sure why but I guess it was due to the part being used in so many different vehicles, they simply added additional years onto the original listing as time went by. instead of revising the original catalog

just my theory. the multiple listings like that are common for some stuff.
