    ASD relay location

    I just couldn't find it...
it's not in the power distribution center as the FSM says and it's not on the inner drivers side fender (there's just the ABS relay)

do '92 TI 2.5 irocs have one?

    i'm clueless...

If it is anything like my 90' shadow, it is behind the battery. If I am not mistaken it is the relay closest to the battery on the inner fender well.

I have a '91 GTC harness in my Shelby Lancer and it's in the Power Distribution Center.

Wow, I didn't even think about that. Talk about living in a world where the fuse blocks under the hood don't exist.

Yeah I'll take one of these any day over fuse links and separate relays all over on the inner fender! I forget which one is the ASD relay, I'll have to check.

    Re: ASD relay location

the reason i need to find it, is because i need to bypass the ASD relay. since my standalone is up and running, the battery is not charged by the alternator anymore.

first idea was the VR in the PCM, so hooked up the SBEC-II again but still no charge. i also don't think that my voltage regulator is broken because voltage is not going up and down it's just getting lower and lower.

second idea was the ASD relay...the wiring diagram confuses me somehow, but i think as long as the relay stays open the battery isn't charged - so i need to bypass that relay.
but i cannot find it. what if euro spec cars didn't have one, somebody know this?

third, my alternator is broken...haven't checked that yet but i will on saturday.

ok, seems like my car doesn't have that relay? seems like the fuel pump relay works as the ASD relay too

The fuel pump relay is the ASD relay.

    Re: ASD relay location

according to the diagram it's not, but in my car it's definitely it!

whatever...fuel pump/ASD/Ignition...none of them needed anymore
