    Re: Flashable SMEC/SBEC anyone?

I kind of got derailled with it last summer when I got swamped at work. I'm still slightly swamped - working an average of 5-10 hrs OT/week (good thing I get paid OT ). But, that's time I don't have now to work on computers.

Anyway, I still want to build/sell them. But, I need to redesign the module to work with the SBEC and then get the boards made. Unfortunately, I really don't have a timetable right now for getting them done. Top priority is getting Turbonator-SMEC worked out, then T-SBEC and T-T3. Then I'll move to the flash modules.

flashable smec sounds pretty sweet. FWDP should do that so instead of mailing the ecu back to them for fine tuning they can just email you a new cal

Yeah, but what would you flash to the computer? The code needs to come first. Plus, it's lower investment than the boards. A run of 10 modules will cost about $500 - money I can't spare this time of year.

Good points and do a prepayment like I did for the S60 cams, I don't have spare cash either,

Yeah, but then I'd have people breathing down my neck for thier computers. Too much risk of bad juju (when it ends up taking me 6 months to get them out)...

    Re: Flashable SMEC/SBEC anyone?

I run your old T1 based code, Zero issues with how the car runs. How many people are gonna buy the SBEC stuff as of right now? The T3 stuff is the only thing I can't mod right now. I just don't see the advantage of this new relocatable code base BS. I have not seen or heard of a good running car with it yet there's always an issue somewhere weather it be a cold start or misfire issue in either Jeff's or your cals. I say stick with the stock cals They work great. Give us our flashable smecs!

I think I have the module schematics figured out. I just need to build a prototype and plug it into my Spirit R/T. If it works, I think I can start building the modules in Jan sometime.

Jeez, it's been nearly 2 years? Well, I finally figured out today what the issue with my latch setup was. So, I will (hopefully) soon be back on the ball with the flashable SMEC/SBEC.

I'll post up here in the next week or so with some more info...

Hi Rob! I would like to get one of Yours flashable SMEC-Modules. I already have socketed my UVEprom, but want to change it to a flashable EPROM. How much would this module costs? Is it still availlable? Other question: Where can I get the Files to flash? I also own a '93 LeBaron Convertible, 2,5l Turbo and this one needs a new SMEC. Do You have any ideas?

For the SMEC, installation requires more than just socketing. Take a look here - http://www.merkurboys.com/wiki/index...C:FlashInstall

Rob " I happen to have (now) a socketed flash cartiridge for the DRB-II." Are you wanting more DRB cartridges. I have a few and one supercartridge.

I don't really do anything with them. I haven't even had my DRBII out in years. Now, if you happened to have a 92/93 TIII flash cart...
