Yes, both Dunny and Andy broke into the 11s. Great runs by both!!! They have sweet rides!
I want to personally thank those that showed up and ran.
This year seemed to be very hard on the cars and their parts. Rob Pachner's Charger spit hard parts out through the trans case so he is going to have to find another and build a new auto. I hurt the A-568 in my Spirit on my pass Sunday morning and therefore didn't want to finish it off by trying to make the call for the Elimination Rounds. I'm not sure what is wrong but it is grinding going into 3rd and is whining pretty loud so I'll have to do more investigation to find the issue but I'm in no hurry. I was also trying to run on borrowed slicks (Thanks Ma Reeves!!!) as I always run on street tires to try and make at least a descent showing. I haven't gotten the hang of them yet as I didn't get any better short times. I've determined that they need a better burn out but I did find out what size I will get when I buy my own as the 24.5" x 8" were a perfect fit on the R1 wheels. They looked awesome on the Spurt! I feel like I embarassed myself and the class with my runs but I tried, guys.

i would also be the happiest loser ever too with an 11.9! Thats freaking awesome on your 2.0L setup there, dunny! gotta love those lightweight 1st gen neons!
"I'll give you anything you'll ever need and I'll find a way to turn you into a monster."
And to think that I was the ONLY 8 valve there on Friday and Saturday, and only 1 of 2 8valves there on Sunday.....I think I'm just going to go totally arse backwards and build a 1st gen Neon with a 8v!
Used to be that it was all 8 valve cars and then Rob used to show up with the only 16 valve. Wow how the tables have turned!

Now that I have my new transmission picked up from Rob at the Nats, I could be working on the LeBaron first and maybe that will be making more appearances. Who knows...

Yeah, that was me. Still working out the bugs on the new setup - this weekend was the 4th through 6th passes on it. It went 11.8 @ 119 and 12.0 @ 116 before the hydraulic clutch master / slave system lost pressure.
It was great to meet all of you guys - thanks again for setting this up and putting out the word on neons.org. We loaded up the trailer and moved closer to the stands to watch the finals, so we didn't get a chance to say goodbye to everyone. Congrats to James on the win, and I look forward to next year!
Nope... lost compression, ran like azz. my money is on burnt valves...
Anytime
Nice to meet everyone and hang out and race! Always cool to have more FWD Mopar racers out!
Sorry that Rob, Matt, Fleck, etc, had problems... I feel your pain!
Thanks to all who came out to race or to spectate the FWD Shootout! With almost a dozen cars this was the largest FWD class in a few years and hopefully enough interest to keep the class going! I plan to formally thank Jim for including us this year and to start working on next year now.
The event was a blast, we'll have a ton of pics uploaded soon!

I want to run cars in other classes. It would be cool if they'd have some sort of T&T session or a call out session....where we could talk some smack and call out some v8 muscle! I think some of us would hand them their asses.......of course not all of the other cars but I think we'd surprise quite a few...
Just got the first video uploaded.....of course it is of my best pass

We watched "Back to the Future" on the DVD player in the truck on the ride home... I thought of this funny image:
"If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 mph, you're gonna see some serious sh*t!"
Sorry for my short post earlier....I was NOT wanting to be at work. LOL!
I had an absolute GREAT time! The weather couldn't have been better and I was so glad that most of us could pit together.
BIG BIG THANKS to JT and Turbo-Mopar for helping to get this together this year! We had a lot of people come to check out our pit area and our cars! Our pit area had the WWW.TURBO-MOPAR.COM banner hanging high and a lot of people were writing down the web address!
I've still got to figure out my alky solenoid problem (SnowPerformance) and do a compression check/leakdown test. Then hopefully I'll be off to Import Face Off race back at National Trails in Columbus.
On another note:
Did anyone happen to see my little mini crotch rocket pit bike before we left O'Charley's on Sunday? I got home today to unload and someone stole it. I don't know if it happened here at my house, or at O'Charley's parking lot.
What really ticks me off is I just put on the bigger carb, a boost box, a 10* timing advance key, a new KN filter, and a new race pipe. I also night shaded the headlights and taillight and washed/waxed every piece.
Wierd part is..they didn't steal anything else.
So much for my prize money.
