    Flex Fuel SBEC

Anyone know if a SBEC from a flex fuel car is of any patricular value for any other application. I came across one a few days ago and snagged the injectors and fuel rail and got to thinking about giong back to see if there are any more neat parts still there. Someone got the top half of the engine before I got there but they left the rail and injectors behind possibly because they couldn't get the rail disconnected from the fuel lines.
    Thanks
    Randy

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

Uber score! That computer is flex fuel specific and worth something to the right person for sure if not to convert to mulit-port in a TBI car. I assume its for an automatic?

Definately grab the SBEC, would be useful for doing a MPI swap on a TBI car.

    Re: Flex Fuel SBEC

I have a thought about flex fuel cars, but not the expertize nor vehical to test this theory, but I'll put it out their in case anybody finds it usefull.

I remember reading years ago that the flex fuel cars have a sensor to measure methanol content in the tank and the SBEC used that info to use the correct fueling and spark. I'm not sure if the sensor scaled the base tables or at a % of methanol it looked at anther set of tables. Could that sensor (or an adjustable facsimile) be used to adjust the calc on the fly?

That's exactly what I was thinking but I'm not very computer savvy so I have no clue. Perhaps someone can shed some light on this.
    Thanks
