I don't have all the details but I think the term "greasy" was used by Rob.

I didn't see them put VHT down once on the starting line. My 60' times were 2 tenths slow from a week ago at Milan. I think I spun for 50'+. And, I'm not making big power like a lot of guys are...

I watched them put down VHT at the starting line, once.
From what I saw, they were spinning after that area.
Needed to go another 100 ft.

    Re: SDAC Drags

They treated the track at least twice with the tractor / rubber dragging thing.

After we fixed James' broken axle, he cut a 1.68 60ft, his second best ever.

I was up on the line, finding it pretty sticky.

He ran a 10.88 and won the Q8....

I was only tuning so didnt give it all yet... Only 6 passes on the motor, 9 miles on it now too. Best was like a 12.79@108? Taking it easy, 9.7:1 A/F... 16psi... 10° timing

My car wasn't 60 ft'n the way it usually does best 60ft was a 1.85. Left lane was pretty greasy for sure. Rob you have way too much power for a not preparred track! LOL!
PLus when you mix up street tires with slick runs tends to scrape the rubber off the pavement.
I had a great time. Best parts other then racing was James Reeves on the big wheel and the James in Joey's car burnout.

I was sitting where I could see or talk to folks on the return to the staging lanes and I got a number of folks with both street & slick tires tell me it was slippery. So Milan lives up to it's saying "Slip and slide at Milan Dragway". I only had one person tell me they thought the track was hooking well.

In case you didn't see it in another thread Rob, I really enjoyed watching you rebuild that 413 in the hotel lot, it was entertaining to watch and you put up with my stupid never-seen-the-inside-of-a-413-before questions A memorable part of the trip for me Another was lining up behind you at the track. From the water box I had a ringside seat of watching you launch, and then you kinda oozed left as it spun, so you musta peddled becasue it went strait for a bit then left again, strait then left almost to the center line. I could tell when you spun because the Charger kinda "Crabs" to the left when you are hazing The starter was a bit annoyed with my because though he was motioning to start my burnout It was just too much fun watching you get smaller-in a hurry I think that was an 11.4X run.

The Rented Caddy was 15.98@ 85 on the motor and 14.29@99.97 on the bottle with 125 shot jets. I SWEAR that thing has some sort of 'rental flash' in it because it refused to go 100. It started surging and pulling back at 1000 feet on the three passes where it ran 99.XX each time I made it 3 rounds in the brackets with that thing then Reeves Mom put me on the trailer with her Hemi Charger RT (CAI and exhaust). That race may have been the closest race I've ever been in Her 60' was a 2.1 to my 2.3 but the Caddy had better MPH in the first half track so I was catching till 3/4 track and then we looked at eachother dead even the rest of the way while the Caddy did it's little surge and pull back timing or whatever thing. I was actually ahead a bit then behind, ahead then behind. Too close to tell at the line but then the win light in her lane sealed the deal I lost by .0031 according to the slip I can scan it later but the slips are in the FedEx box with the kit and the N2 bottles.

Reeves car with his 5spd was hard on axles as usual, I can tell you with 9psi in the slicks and his spool, it takes 5 guys to push that beast to the pits. Though I SWEAR that thing looked cleaner this year, he says it is the same paint from last year but... Awfully shiny

Talking to Dean in the pits about track conditions (after watching Rob's run and Dean hadn't run yet) and he made an interesting observation that the greasiness of the track would affect him less because he launches relatively soft and hits harder after a couple hundred feet or so. I watched 2 of his passes from the side, he's right. Out of the hole easy then picks up speed like a monster Maybe he'll post a slip...

Maybe someone from quick 8 can time in with bump spot and stats etc?

Milan is a nice facility IMO. At least three different snack shacks and a BBQ place (that weren't open) grassy pits, "Rockys" had 100, 110, 112, C12, C14, C16, nitrous componants, oils and lots of bits and pieces racers may need. Heck, I almost bought a set of 24" D ring wheel straps because all I've seen around here are 18's but he was way to busy trying to just pump fuel. Prices were great too, I bought 5gals of 100 and had $45. out to pay him (what it cost me here at $9/gal) then he asked for $28.75. I *thought* he said $48.75 so I hand him three $20's. He looks at me like Stuupid F'n tourist that can't count and gives me back the 20, a 10 and a quarter

This is common as they often use a flash program to reset the mph and max RPM limit, but that's about it. It's a fat car so a 14.XX is nothing to frown at. Next time try and get a GTO and you'd have made the low 13's or even high 12's. I know, I know, they didn't have any available...

Spool? What spool? Only a quaife
    9 psi? Try 7.5 psi!
And Alan you are not the only one that thought I re-painted the car. I had at least 5 people ask me that! Mom Reeves must have done a really good job buffing it out this past winter for the magazine photo shoot!

I didn't get to see the first round of qualifying because I broke the axle early in a time trial and couldn't get the axle nut off quickly (broke 3 Craftsmen 1/2" breaker bars. I'm not sure how many cars were qualifying.

I'll get my time slips and post up the times in a few.

I won the heads up I ran a 12.45 against warren Hall. It was the closest and most exciting race I have ever had. I was running consistent 12.55s all day. Warren had just run the same so we knew it was going to be close. He treed me but I had a better launch. He would start catching me just before I shifted into each gear. In the end I won by .009 seconds.

    Re: SDAC Drags

    Here's my timeslips.

    Round 2 of Quick-8 qualifying:
    Pat Culkin car 4 Me
    .4520--------r/t--------------.3001
    1.9711-------60ft-------------1.6928
    5.3110------330ft-------------4.7408
    7.9398--------1/8th et---------7.2787
    94.55-------1/8t mph--------98.25
    10.2218-------1000ft et--------9.4861
    107.20-------1000ft mph------109.13
    12.1459--------1/4 et----------11.3718
    117.54--------1/4 mph---------117.86

This was the first good pass I've made since I cracked my old head last year. I was being on the safe side and had the boost turned down and the knock sensor plugged in. I was breaking up from being too rich and it was pulling 14 deg of timing in all 4.

    Round 1 of Quick-8 eliminations:
    Pat Culkin car 4 Me
    .2901--------r/t--------------.2891
    1.9159-------60ft-------------1.9318
    5.2700------330ft-------------5.1960
    7.9097--------1/8th et---------7.6567
    93.21-------1/8t mph--------100.21
    10.1968-------1000ft et--------9.7808
    106.63-------1000ft mph------114.53
    12.1810--------1/4 et----------11.5760
    110.56--------1/4 mph---------125.29

I had unplugged the knock sensor on this run. I staged late and didn'tget the rpm's up and bogged the launch pretty bad.

    Round 2 of Quick-8 eliminations:
    SRT-4 car 41 Me
    .3561--------r/t--------------.1840
    1.8488-------60ft-------------1.7118
    5.0560------330ft-------------4.7769
    7.5950--------1/8th et---------7.1470
    93.75-------1/8t mph--------103.45
    9.7790-------1000ft et--------9.1940
    112.43-------1000ft mph------119.62
    11.6029--------1/4 et----------10.9140
    123.22--------1/4 mph---------131.17

I didn't catch the SRT-4's driver's name, but he came up after the run and said "My buddy told me there would be a 10 sec. Omni here and I told him he was full of sh*t!" He was a real nice guy and said he was running Stage 3 on his car. Later I was putting my laptop in my truck to charge it back up and I heard him walking away telling his friend "a 10 second Omni....I still can't believe it.."

I had attempted to turn the boost up a little on this run, but it didn't change any. It was still really fat, but wasn't breaking up near as bad as my first run. One of my intercooler hose clamps bumped the front of my radiator and put a pinhole in it, so I had an antifreeze leak. Thanks to RacinTracy's quick thinking, we chewed up a couple pieces of JuicyFruit and temporarily fixed the leak!

    Next run
    Final Round of Quick-8 eliminations:
    Dean Stillie car#37 Me
    .2470--------r/t--------------.1640
    1.9180-------60ft-------------1.7340
    5.1121------330ft-------------4.7759
    7.5419--------1/8th et---------7.1309
    101.57-------1/8t mph--------104.44
    9.6290-------1000ft et--------9.1689
    117.17-------1000ft mph------121.64
    11.3968--------1/4 et----------10.8879
    127.49--------1/4 mph---------131.21

I attempted to turn up the boost again, but it still didn't change any. It was still pretty fat, but the break up and popping seemed to go away on this run.

It was a very fun day! I was really, really wanting to line my car up with the 10.8x 440 Cuda that was there..but he had told Clay that he didn't know if he was going to run it anymore today....so I told the OVC that if they heard it fire up to let me know! Then I went and made a fun run in Dad's 07 Charger R/T. 14.27. Then we put some slicks on Fleck's car and I drove it the first time to a 13.5? Then hotlapped it to a 13.3x! Meanwhile, the Cuda fired up and made another run while I was on the return road Then they closed the lanes
