Whew! It was getting down to the wire.
Before I went to Florida in May, I had problems with my BB+20 calibration w/ modified boost tables for WOT and RPM. I had no boost control. My MPSTG2 and BB+20 w/o modified boost tables that had no problem.
Because I wanted to do some more tweaking and figuring things out, I went and installed a boost guage, wb-o2, and the moates chip extender. I didn't get the wb-o2 finished because I couldn't remove the old o2 sensor. While I was messing with that, I accidently broke some of the plastic vacuum lines. SNAP! So I got a vacuum block from TU.
I went to Florida. When I came back, I fixed the vacuum lines, left the wb-o2 in even though it wasn't finished. I then put in a Turbonator+20 calibration with near stock boost. It fell on it's face hard. What the heck! So I put the MPSTG2 calibration in. Couldn't get boost past 5-6psi. GRR!!!! Rich!!!!
So I kept working with vacuum lines and troubleshooting under the hood. I even thru in different Turbonator and BB calibrations to no avail.
Yesterday I sprung a pinhole leak on my return line. I fixed it. Well I decided to go ahead and put in the longer Moates cable to finish the installation of the chip extender. Guess what.... all is good again. It was the short ribbon cable. It is bad.
So I am stress free now!
I am going to change the oil and clean the car for the trip on Friday. I am also going to bring my calibration equipment for up in Detroit. I need to find a shop in Detroit to weld an o2 bung on for me since I am lacking in shops down here that are compitent. Then I can tweak the calibration and get her running tip top shape.
The BB style code with just +20 is so nice for fuel mileage unlike the MPSTG2 with slightly reduced fuel pressure. I am hoping for 31mpg on the way up.
