I bought a race built trans that was drained of fluid and removed from a car a while before I picked it up. It sat on the floor for a couple months, then was installed pretty much 4 years ago. Fuid was never put in it, and a rag was used to plug the fill hole.

During the summer months, the temp change can make it very humid in the barn where I keep the car. So much so, it actually rains under the car due to so much condensation building up.

Well now the linkage won't shift from Neutral, assumably due to rust between the steel shaft and alum case. I sprayed PB Blast a couple different times, and tapped on it with a hammer, and can only get it to budge a little, and stick again.

Can I pull the cover and drop the valve body out (obviously need to hammer on the shaft a little) and repair this easy? Or am I looking at a rebuild?
