    New/Reman C/V's?

    I am wondering

I have an equal length set up out of an 87 Shelby Z does it matter what axle style I buy ie: a.c.i or g.k.n or citroen or s.s.g?

I think the stockers are s.s.g's?

and Does the intermediate shaft come with the right side cv axle or is that a separate part?

and Do I have to have the Damper weight on the left side, and if I don't is that what causes torque steer?

    THANKS GUYS.

Mopar used different vendors along the way, as with anything they got
better as the model yr's went on. Buy remans with whomever you feel
gives you the best deal, use the newest model yr you can (non ABS
    or you'll pay more).

The intermediate shaft is seperate, the joint and center bearing rarely
go bad unless damaged as people try to seperate the two (seized in
20yr old spline). The dampner will be on there already.

If you ever see an unmodified Spirit RT with ABS, check out those
    OE shafts.

    Okay, thanks for that.

So even tho I have an 86 I could put 91 Equal Driveshafts in it?

No...that is the one difference you need to worry about. '86 and earlier used a smaller spline on the trans end. '87 and later used a big spline.

You said 1987 in your post, as noted the 84-86-1/2 used special smaller
balsa wood shafts that wont interchage with the 1987+.

be VERY careful with remans, I have had bad luck with them. Whenever it's the only option I go with remans anymore and I take them out right in front of the guy and check for play in the CV and make sure it's not too stiff (not properly lubed up) I have gone through up to 3 to find one I was happy with and the guy could NOT believe the "good" reman axles were shot straight out of the box. They RTV'ed them on the spot.

    Re: New/Reman C/V's?

Okay guys I have called Partsource in Canada (our advanced) and asked about shafts They list the exact same part# for left and right on an equal length set-up and do not come with the dampener. He also asked me what style I wanted out of:

    A.C.I / G.K.N / SAGINAW

What out of the 3 is the strongest style? I was quoted $109 each for Saginaw brand new and 89.99 used. He said the saginaw had the ABS gear on them but I do not have ABS which doesnt really matter. (Canada sucks --- for car/parts prices not to mention we are paying $1.30 a gallon more than the US 30 min across the border)

    So which is best?

Well, there may be different sizes of each, but the one T3 axle I have that seems to have a rather large tripod compared to the others is a Saginaw.
