Yeah I didn't even consider the RS, just looked like a piece of crap from the picture! But thanks for your experiences with it!

I ran the Type RS bov at 29 psi and had absolutely no problems.
HKS Super-sequential. It works at all boost levels and is extremely well-made.
If you don't like the sound, pick up one of the $25 inserts to put in it. You can make it sound higher- or lower-pitched.
I picked up a used Tial from my good Buddy Top Fuel Bender for something like $180.00. Used they are out there...but you gotta jump on e'm when you find them.
Thanks for all the opinions/suggestions/experiences guys. Looks like the SSQV or a Tial, whichever I come across first at a decent price.
just stick a duck caller on the DSM and it will sound awesome!!!
Anybody know how much boost the modded 1st gen DSM will hold?
ive personally done 35 psi on a frends eclipse I built for em, held up good.
Nice. Thanks
I keep getting outbid on DSM bov's on ebay
Plus I would have to chop off and reweld the flange onto a different pipe since the stock pipe is like 2''.
I think I found one I want to try though. It's a knock off Tial, but it's from siliconeintakes.com and I've never heard bad about anything on their site. It says it can hold 30+ PSI, and for $60 plus $20 for the pipe with the flange on it that's not a bad deal IMO-

If it's anything like real deal it's the best BOV I've ever owned. I have a really nice pipe I'm not using that I can send you a pic of if you are interested...if not silicone intakes pipe is of very good quality as I am using one of those as well.
What size pipe is it?
Send away-

With a price shipped to 17025, thanks.
I prefer the Volvo BOV to the DSM. It requires no mods to hold 25+ psi (can't verify whether it will hold more than that), all metal construction, adjustable, cheap (at just about any JY), and much more available than the DSM. My son is running one on his CSX ( @ 18psi) and is very happy with it. He picked his up for $5 at a local yard here. I am running an HKS SSQ on my Rampage and I would highly recommend it. I have also heard very good things about TiaL.
My preferences:
1. HKS SSQ
2. TiaL
3. Volvo
Damn, silicone intakes is completely sold out of their Tial replica's and nothing else they have holds big boost. Looks like I need a 1G dsm bov...
TurboXS makes a BOV that is reverseable (Type-H) so boost seals it shut. Supposedly good for 35+ psi..

so has anybody tested the synapse bov??? it seems to be a real nice piece of equipment....... a little expensive one
Okay...will this be a drag only car? if so that a modded Talon valve will do fine for you. If it will be street driven fairly often than you will need to over engineer to get your desired results continuously.
I apologize for this...but really Why don't you spend the money one time to get the right part for the application to protect your turbo investment instead of trying to cheap your way out of it I can't believe I am actually seeing you consider a modded Talon valve after reading how you slam Gary Donovan over some of the things you have. I gotta admit that would be poetic justice at it's finest ...and you are considering buying a Tial knock off?...didn't you try one of those e-bay turbos? How did that work out for ya? learn anything?
Moral of the story is take your chances man...but practice what you preach With your goals and how much you talk about your cars horsepower output and blah, blah, blah you really need to step it up in your product choices. Remember the TU carnage clutch situation? Didn't that guy misapply the product for the intended application? I realize this is just a BOV but really, aren't you doing the same thing now? Spend the money for the right part that will perform without trying to buy imitations or modify equipment to make it work In the long run you will have a better more consistant car.
