Fuel pressure doesn't hold for long...

The pump anti-drain back is bad I believe. Doesn't hold pressure longer than an hour or so after shutting down. I can hear gurgling from the tank vent line. Any problems with running like this or should I change my 2 year old, less than 2k mile 255 pump?

Car starts right up, even when the pressure drops off from sitting. Plan to drive to SDAC, so not wanting any problems. Gotta change a front wheel bearing out this weekend.

The pump in my omni doesn't hold much pressure at all once I shut it off. It has been that way for some time though.

That's fine and dandy, but I have all braided lines...I don't plan to pinch any of those

Well then you don't have many options, so start with the pump,

It's just wierd that I didn't have this issue until installing my new fuel line set-up and top-end. I don't have any issues when in boost; runs good A/F ratio. I'm running a new accufab regulator.

It could be a bad reg but if you can't crimp the lines, it makes it hard to isolate. If you could make a plug, you could block off the reg outlet.

Dang car...it's gonna end up killing me one day with all these problems I have day in and day out. I do have an extra 6AN O-ring plug I could throw in place of the regulator return outlet.

Re: Fuel pressure doesn't hold for long...

its ok if it drops off over time, but if it wants to shut off when you lift the throttle, then the valve in the pump is dead for sure, and it won't hold pressure for 5 minutes. either way, it sounds like it it is going to crap out on you soon.

hit a hydrolics store and get a -6 plug and seal off the return line. either way, you still have the rubber hose at the pump i would guess, so you can pinch it off there.

It drops off over time, but doesn't hold over night like it use to. I just read some info at aeromotive's website.

    http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/pdf/13109.pdf

It looks like this regulator doesn't hold after the car's shut off.

yeah, they don't hold more than a couple of hours, so you're fine.
