Auto Temp Mix Air Door Actuator

I've got a quick question about the actuator for the mix air door on automatic temperature control systems.

Are they the same?

I've got an '86 system in my '86 Daytona. The mix air door actuator seems to be confused and throws a code. Do I have to find an '86/87 unit or are they the same in the later years too?
