How do you test fuel pump relay?
89 Daytona Shelby.
Fuel pump relay make noise, when I turn the car, but fuel pump does not prime. If I jump the 12v to from battery to coil, fuel pump runs just fine.
I don't mind buying a new relay, if the old one is bad, how do I verify is the relay? If it this the standard relay, I can follow the diagram, but it is not... so I'm lost.
Thanks.

Re: How do you test fuel pump relay?
Well, I was going to suggest checking the power to the coil in the relay, but I can't tell for sure which wire it is. It's either the blue/yellow or the blue/white both go to the ecu, but one will be hot and the other ground. I'm guessing blue/yellow because it also goes to the test connector.
Whichever one is hot should have power on it for a few seconds when the key is cycled on. If you've got power there, and you've got power at the red wire, then it's just about got to be the relay.
Edit: I just realized you said it makes noise. That confirms that the coil is energizing. So, if you've got power on the red wire and nothing on the dark green/black wire when cycling the key or cranking, then it has to be the relay.
Probably corroded contacts...

Thanks, I also found another test method. It's the relay.

ah, so the blue/yellow wire is a ground and it works off of a switched ground...
That'll teach me to assume crap...
